Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Memory Verse: “God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son.” John 3:16 GNT
Key Question: Who is the best?
Bottom Line: Jesus is the Best!
Bible Story: The Great Commission – Matthew 28:19-20
The last week of this special series we’ve been doing with preschoolers and kindergarteners focused on the important mission that Jesus gave his followers before He left for Heaven. This story showed us that even though we may know that Jesus is #1, that isn’t all we need to learn. Jesus told the disciples to go into the world and spread the news of who Jesus is and what He did for us. Your kids played with a GIANT GLOBE to find places they could go to tell others who Jesus is. They played a matching game with card showing different kids living in other parts of the world. Afterwards, they made their very own megaphones (because they weren’t loud enough already…) to remind them that they can tell everyone that “Jesus is the best!”
If you didn’t get them already, you can use this guide to keep this lesson on your child’s mind throughout your week:

Humility is tough to learn and even tougher to do. When the world around you is focused on the “me”, we hope your child will start focusing on the “we” after this series.
This week, we talked about the example that Jesus set in humility when He gave up Heaven to come to earth and be punished for crimes He didn’t commit. Just the way that He did what no one else could and saved the world from being a prisoner of sin. Even though Jesus deserved to be put first more than anyone, He became a servant to everyone.
That leads us to our Bottom Line:
Put others first.
It’s simple to say but harder to follow. It helps that Jesus promised us that the Holy Spirit would be here to help us in His place. We pray that your child has gotten even a little more humble and is hopefully trying to put others first.
